I know the Checkmate Pulsare 2100 is a popular choice for prop upgrade, but with no experience I'd like to get some opinions. What is a good option and why?

For the Pulsare 2100, a 23 or 25 pitch stainless steel prop like Tempest Plus or similar is a solid starting point. it gives a balance of top speed and hole shot. What engine are you running? That can help narrow it down more

One concern is over-propping too soon, going with too much pitch can hurt hole shot and overall performance, especially if your setup isn't dialed in yet, it is best to test before committing.

Sorry I'm jumping in a bit late here. When it comes to choosing props, it really depends on how your rig is set up and what you're trying to achieve. I'd suggest starting with a mid-range pitch and seeing how it performs. Test out the RPM and the bite, then you can tweak things from there to get it just right!

A lot of this is going to depend on a few things.
What motor do you have, what gearcase, and how do you use your boat?
Are you trying for max speed, better hole shot for skiing, or a good all-around compromise?
But generally, a good starting point for a Pulsare 2100 with a decent amount of power is a good quality stainless steel 3-blade prop with a good bit of rake.
The Mercury Tempest Plus is a really popular and proven option, likely a 25" pitch.
If you're on a stock setup and this is your first time upgrading, I think that's a low-risk, high-reward option!
