Engine upgrade

With all the outdated and mismatched parts, its to me that clear my "Tired 502" was really a Frankenstein 454 block with a 502 sticker. Time for a full engine upgrade. I'm leaning toward a Certified pre-owned MAG HO (430 HP) over the 8.2 MAG (380 HP), if i'm already dropping $16k, an extra $2k for more power seems worth it. I mostly boat for fun and speed and just want a reliable engine that doesn't need constant attention. Any tips or things I should watch out for?

I had a similar setup last year with my Checkmate Pulsare 2100 BR and switched to the MAG HO. It's been great so far. If you want speed and less hassle, the extra power is worth the money. Just make sure the used engine has good service records and strong compression in all cylinders. If possible, check the computer history too

I totally get wanting to have more power, but here's the thing I'm concerned about. How will the rest of the boat handle that? Do you need to make some reinforcements?
